Privacy Policy

1. In short
- Trophist has no user accounts and does not collect, send or sell your personal data.
- It contains no telemetry, analytics, ads or tracking.
- Everything it reads about your Steam library stays on your computer.
- The app only connects to the services listed in section 4.
- The website sets no cookies.
2. Who is responsible for your data
Trophist and trophist.com are operated by Matúš Gallo, a sole trader registered in the Czech Trade Licensing Register. Matúš Gallo is the controller of your personal data.
Kaprova 42/14, 110 00 Praha 1, Czech Republic
Company ID (IČO): 22028251
Email: support@trophist.com
3. Data on your computer
To show your library, Trophist reads data from the Steam client running on your PC: your Steam account ID, the games you own, their names, achievements and unlock times, and when you last played each game. It reads this only locally and never sends it to us.
Trophist stores the following in %LocalAppData%\Trophist and %LocalAppData%\Programs\Trophist:
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| The app itself | Runs Trophist |
| Library and game data cache | Shows your library quickly |
Achievement rarity cache (rarity) | Avoids asking Steam on every start |
List of known games (games.xml) | Finds which apps have achievements |
Downloaded updates (update) | Installs new versions |
| Settings: language, favourites, view, filters, accepted terms | Remembers your preferences |
When you save achievement changes, Trophist sends them to Steam through the Steam client, the same way a game does.
4. What the app connects to
Trophist connects to the services below. Like any internet request, each one exposes your IP address and basic technical details (such as the app version in the User-Agent) to that service. None of these requests contain your Steam account ID.
| Service | What Trophist requests | Their privacy policy |
|---|---|---|
| trophist.com (us) | The latest version info and update files | This policy |
| Steam Web API (Valve) | Global achievement rarity, by game ID | Valve Privacy Policy |
| Steam CDN (Valve) | Game covers, headers and achievement icons | Valve Privacy Policy |
| gib.me | The public list of games with achievements | – |
| Google Fonts | Fonts and icons for the interface | Google Privacy Policy |
| Fontshare (Indian Type Foundry) | Fonts for the interface | Fontshare |
The Steam client itself communicates with Valve under Valve's own terms; Trophist does not change that.
5. The website
Server logs. When you visit trophist.com or the app checks for updates, our hosting provider Cloudflare, Inc. (Cloudflare Privacy Policy) processes standard request data (IP address, time, requested file, browser or app version) to deliver and secure the service, and may keep it briefly in technical logs. We do not use this data to identify or track you. The legal basis is our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Fonts. The fonts of trophist.com are served from trophist.com itself. Visiting the website doesn’t connect you to Google Fonts, Fontshare or any other font service.
No cookies. The website sets no cookies, uses no analytics and loads nothing from third parties. It only remembers the language you pick, in your browser’s local storage (trophist-lang); this never leaves your browser.
6. Contacting us
You can reach us at support@trophist.com, which is also where trophist.com/feedback points; the page itself sends nothing. If you write, we receive your e-mail address and what you write, forwarded to our mailbox by Cloudflare Email Routing. We use messages only to answer you and improve Trophist, and delete them when they are no longer needed. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering you (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
7. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you,
- have it corrected or deleted,
- restrict or object to its processing,
- receive it in a portable format.
Write to support@trophist.com. You can also complain to a supervisory authority, in the Czech Republic the Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů.
Deleting your data. Uninstall Trophist in Windows Settings → Apps, then delete the %LocalAppData%\Trophist folder. Nothing about you remains with us.
8. Children and changes
Children. Trophist is not aimed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes. We may update this policy. The new version is published on trophist.com with a new "Last updated" date.
